HOW2 Start a Business 2016

Are you interested in starting a business but not sure how to get started?
Join one of our FREE regular workshops at John Buddle Work Village designed to give you a practical introduction to starting up and growing your business. You can attend any or all of the workshops run by our qualified and experienced Business Adviser, and you’ll get to meet other like-minded people interested in starting a business.

Generate Business Ideas

The first stage of developing a business is the idea for a product or a service.

Many people would like to start a business but do not know what type of business they should set up or don’t yet have ideas. This workshop will explore where ideas can come from, how to research the idea to make sure it is possible to turn your idea into a business and ultimately create a business.

Other workshops in the series include:

  • Create your Business Plan
  • Manage your Finances
  • Get Customers

Workshops run on Thursdays with dates planned for September, October and November 2016.

Apprentice's are taking over..

apprentices outside office

Over the last year we have seen a staggering increase of new workers coming in to the John Buddle Work Village to work with our tenants. All of who seem to be new apprenticeships.

We have Bianca Rogers from Reviving the Heart of the West End, Leighvie Fearns- Kennedy and Codie Riley from Arrow Sales, Vicky Dixon from New Tyne West Development and Johnny from Love Food. All of the Apprenticeships at the Work Village are learning about different subjects from catering to sales and hope to progress on to permanent employment when their apprenticeships come to an end.

Bianca, an Apprentice for RHWE since December 2013 says
‘’I wasn’t too keen on doing an apprenticeship at first because I thought the learning would be hard but it was quite simple and the support you receive is great. It’s brilliant that you can learn and gain experience at the same time. I am so glad I chose to do an apprenticeship because my confidence has grown and I have met some lovely people’.

Hopefully throughout 2015, we see even more apprenticeships coming through our doors to learn and train with our tenants. It is a pleasure to see such how supportive businesses are by giving these young people a chance and opportunity.
